I was never able to connect via usb between my Axim x51v and my Dell Latitude laptop. If this is happening to you, you can do the initial sync via IR and then go to Bluetooth with no problems. I also found that you need to make the bluetooth connection out of the dock and once it has connected then dock the device or there will be syncing problems.
I cannot connect to a bluetooth printer adapter. The Dell Axim X51 discovers the adapter and then asks for a passcode. You can put in a passcode or not and it keeps coming back to the screen asking for a passcode. It cannot complete the setup.
