- Free Utility: Playlist Manager

If you use WMP10 on your WM device, you’d notice the lack of playlist creation. As design point, MS wants you to create all playlist using WMP on your PC and Activesync to your WM device. Unfortunately, if you have different media collection between your PC and your WM device then it is not convenient to create playlist and save for later use.

I have been using the free utility written by Jon Misorda, called PlaylistEditor, but recently Vicott Wong created another utility called Plalistmgr, In my opinion Playlistmrg is a little more user friendly. As shown in the screenshot, the user interface is very intuitive!

You just basically need to:

Install the utility:
The zip file has a CAB file and the GSGETfile.dll. Copy the CAB file to yout WM device and launch the install by tapping on it. the dll file needs to go to \Windows directory

  1. Create a new playlist
  2. Add a entire folder or individual files
  3. Order them as you wish
  4. Save it in a directory (e.g. \Storage Card\My Playlists)
  5. Launch WMP on your mobile device and click on menu
  6. Click on Library-Update Library
  7. WMP will put the new plalist on its database

Available HERE!
(I would have redirected you to Vicott site, but the install file has several versions, which might confuse you, therefore I repackage here). Please visit Vicott site and support him for his great effort.

My wish list: I am listening mostly Podcasts that are aggregated daily on my WM device, I wish the capability of auto-refresh the playlist and sort most recent on top. So I don’t have to go through the process of creation/modification daily.

Mortplayer is the only player that can do that today.
