- Off Topic: Crisis in Middle-East
The Middle-East crisis seems to aggravate as day goes by. I just want to post here few lines to express our concerns to many SolSie.com readers as well as people living in the the crisis areas. Our hearts & our prayers are with you. We wish a speedy resolution to this conflict!

You seem to forget that this latest crisis in the northern borders of Israel was caused by a totally unprovoked attack by Hezbollah, an Iranian/Syrian backed, ruthless terrorist group.
This began by the kidnapping of 2 Israeli soldiers who were patrolling the frontier, along the border, and the killing of a number of other soldiers, after the Hezbollah crossed the border into Israel and placed an ambush.
I remind you and the other readers here, that a few years ago, during Prime Minister’s Barak government, Israel withdrew to the international border as defined by the UN, totally and completely according to the UN definitions, and even Kofie Annan, the UN secretary, stated this fact.
So no faction in the northern border of Israel should have had any sort of complaint regarding any so-called “occupied areas” along the Israel-Lebanon border.
Further, the Lebanese government failed to comply with those same UN resolutions, by not deploting along the Southern Lebanese border, thereby allowing the Hezbollah terrorists to take hold of that ground and creating a de-facto terrorist state-within-a-state.
I should also mention the incredibly hypocritical European media, always yelping in favor of the terrorist agressors, without spending a single moment to review the obvious facts.
I remind all readers here, that during the last few days, the Hezbollah terrorists have bombarded the State of Israel with over 700 missiles and Katyusha rockets, killing several civilians and wounding scores. Only this morning 8 civilians were killed by projectiles (apparently some sort of advanced air-to ground missiles), and dozens wounded.
I spent the last weekend with my family in the North of Israel, and heard and saw the 100-300 daily rockets that fell upon innocent civilians, and sympathized first hand with them (not from afar, by TV watching).
I don’t recall anyone condemning the Hezbollah terrorists, the Syrian and Iranian goverments, as the perpetrators of this “crisis”.
So I would suggest that the header of this entry (“Crisis in Middle-East”) be changed into something a little more more objective.
Daniel, sorry you feel that way…
I thought the message here is just to express the concern without making any judgement, condemnation nor accusation…
Well,
Here in Israel we are at the receiving end of a barbaric agression, with Mr. Hezbollah himself making more threats on TV as we speak.
I’m certain you meant well, but sadly terrorism does not allow any of us to ne “impartial”.
We must all recognize this worldwide threat for what it is, and act firmly and decisively against it.
And don’t take me wrong. I’m not in favor of any sort of violence, but as the US discovered too late for it’s own good (September-11), such cowardly, terrorist acts, can not go unpunished.
So instead of praying, I suggest we all take some practical steps, and pressure our representatives to act against terrorism, specifically against Hezbollah and Hammas, and make laws that allow all governments to impound their assets worldwide, and thus help to diminish their power and resources.
These kinds of steps will certainly help all humanity against the barbaric terrorist organizations that have murdered people by the hundreds (actually – thousands) in the past few years.
I know this may be a bit late in the game but i just cant read this one sided analysis of what happened in July 2006 and not leave a comment.
20+ years of occupation and iscessant bombing of civilaian areas as well as subjugation of the entire population of the south of lebanon is provocation.
Tourturing of citizens and holding prisoners without trial for years on end is against any and all human rights charters and agreements. Moreover Israel still occupies lebanese lands.
The war killed around 1200 lebanese citizens mostly civilans and around 180 israelis, mostly soldiers. The math speaks for itself.
Terrorism is an abhorent practice however, terrorism can come in the form of a katusha or an f-22 raptor. Lets be a little more truthfull with our analysis daniel.
