Love to have a copy of PocketWeather
Hmmm. I would love to have either but Pocketweather would be my favorite.
OK. Before I try out a new program, I backup my ppc with a good backup program (has to be one of the really good ones and then I backup my backups and I keep my documents on a storage card which I’ve found tend to be a little more stable than ppcs).
How does this save memory? Well, some programs behave adversely with other programs on my particular unit, or I just don’t like the program. If you unninstall it the regular way they leave junk behind and if you try lots of shareware, over time there can be lots of junk. And so I make it a habit of doing an intentional hard reset from time to time–whalla,I’m back to where I know I’m stable–and clutter free, and when I like a program then I do a new build. I also keep track of the memory used in the folders of my build so that if something gets out of hand I investigate . . .
never tried either but my choice would be pocketbreese as I use my ppc for taking notes and checking things when I am on call.
Would love to have PocketWeather.
If your device is running on WM2003SE device, a “new” way to save RAM is by compressing EXE and DLL files using my latest freeware. It also helps you to save alot of storage space by compressing files on Storage Cards or main memory. It works for WM5 too.
More information and tips here.
P.S: No Contest
Sorry, I don’t know if my previous message got posted or not, because it gave me a Page Not Found Error. If so, just delete this, mods!
Okay.
I would like to get a PocketWeather copy. I have PocketBreeze, so I guess I’ll post a tip.
As someone above me said, its a good idea to compress the exe to save load time.
Also, the best place to put it on your today screen is at the bottom. Resize it through the options to keep it on one page. Oh, and its really useful to see the Calendar events.
One more thing. When ever you make setting changes, make sure you click the green check, not the OK button in the corner. That is the best way to ensure your settings are saved. This includes when you enter your registration number.
I could use a copy of PocketWeather.
#4 – the one downside of using UPX to compress .exe and .dll files is that they take up less RAM while they’re not being used, but more RAM when they are being used. If you use UPX, it’s a good idea not to keep too many running programs open in the background.
Another tip is of course to move some .dll files to a storage card using tweaks2k2 or memorymaid. And some programs that install by default to main memory work fine if you move the .exe files to a storage card afterwards. I know this works with Mobipocket. All you have to do is create a new shortcut for the program’s new location.
I would love a copy of Pocket Breeze!
What i have done to keep my Axim speedy is to have iLauncher installed. it keeps a cache of the icons, so you dont wait as long after a SR. no more waiting for that start menu to load!
I would love Pocketbreeze…
Why? Because with the WM5 Calendar you really don’t have a clue which events are comming…till the event is there.
So with Pocketbreeze you get a view about all your events and tasks…
And with the right skin (from Mikejo: Vista) you get a really beautiful Pocketbreeze…
Hmmm. hard choice. Both seem pretty tight. But, I think PocketWeather would be fun to have, especially with the 100 degree weather we are having here. It’ll be nice to know the forcast in advance w/o having to go to weather.com or something. Hope I win!
I would like a copy of PocketBreeze.
I would love to own a copy of PocketWeather. I recently installed the trial version and was impressed with its capabilities. Further, SBSH products usually require less memory than similar products from other vendors. Thanks.
I like to have PocketBreeze. The TABs are cool and save a lot of real-estate.
Ravi.
I would love to have PocketBreeze.
To save ram I try to install as many programs as I can on my storage card.
From DGoldring:
Cool! I would love Pocket Weather, especially since I already have PB, and use it daily.
As for a tip, I store as many programs as possible on an external (SD or CF card) — ack, but I see that one has already been done.
OK, so this is a little off topic, but I never pay money for any software for my Axim unless I can download a free trial to test it out first. Often, the trial will show me that a particular program won’t meet my needs saving me considerable cash.
Looking forward to my copy of Pocket Weather. Great contest.
I would like Pocket Weather please.
Something entirely different for my PDA. I use MeMaid as one of the ways I free up RAM.
I would really like to have Pocket Breeze.
Tip: I also use Memaid to free up my RAM. But a major way to save ram is to try to install programs into the storage card. If not able to, then install to the Built-In Storage (If Able) so you have some memory to run programs.
The best way to free-up RAM is not to load anything. That includes PB, PW….

I love the pocket breeze. It will run nicely on my smart phone. TB74.
I use a little freeware task switcher called PocketNav to easily close unused background app.
I’d love to get a copy of PocketBreeze.
I use Oxio Hibernate to released unused RAM. Although the software was developed for smartphone, it works fine on my Eten M600 PPC. And it manages to release some more RAM after I run ReclaimRam from MemMaid.
PocketBreeze would make a great addition to an already great piece of hardware (X50v).
Free up space by cleaning out old unused registry entries on a regular basis. Although slightly tricky, you can manually go through the registry and delete references to previously uninstalled apps. A smaller registry means a faster PDA.
Thanks!
I tried to post before, byt got an error message – replay follows
Pocket Breeze would be a nice addition.
As for memory saving – for me it would be using WA2 to not let applications to run longer than they’re needed to, and using minimum number of apps with display on the Today screen, keeping the ones with maximum functionality (WA2, iLauncher and WeatherPanel right now).
Pocket Breeze; switched to iLauncher to save memory, hoping that PB does the same.
I love the pocketweather. This software will run nicely on my smart phone. TB74
I would like a copy of PocketWeather, please.
I’m using PocketMechanic and Where Is My Ram to menage memory.
Thanks
I would be fall-over-slap-happy if I were to win a copy of PocketWeather. Your praises would be sung from mountain tops
I would love to get a copy of PB. I promise to be a heavy user with it.
to make sure, my Axim X51v is always lean and clean, I have installed A12 ROM and after the fresh reset I made a backup.
every week I backup again and after 4 turns I delete the oldest.
once I feel the system get’s slow, I install the last backup.
this makes it easy to try out every software (love the free stuff) but still be sure to run fast and don’t mess up your RAM
Saving RAM tips:
1-Move all the .tsk (today themes) to the root of your storage card
2-Move your email attachment to storage card – you also can move your email to storage card w/registry hack)
3-Install all your programs to storage card except today plugins
4-Move your PIE cache to storage card
5-Move your skins (WA, PB, WP etc..) to storage card
7-If you have Odysee client (2MB) and no need for it, replace with a dummy module
8-You can use Vicott’s utility (Mobile-SG) to compress .exe and .dll files
9-You can move some .dll to storage card (using Tweaks2k2 or Memmaid)
10-Move your Notes to storage card
11-Keep your \My Documents directory as clean as possible…
12-Make sure there is no .CAB files left after install..
and more…
I have both PocketBreeze and PocketWeather already and they are both great programs. However, if I get a chance I would love another copy of PocketBreeze for my buddies.
I use SKTools FreeUP RAM to reclaim some RAM. Also, if you have .NET CompactFramework loaded on your PPC, you can move it to your flash memory card to save some space.
I would love to win a copy of PocketBreeze. I downloaded the trial version 2 days and and so far, I think its a great ad-on program!
My tip to free up RAM is a simple one – I run MemMaid on a regular basis!
Pocket weather please. I use Wisbar to keep an eye on open programs and close any unused.
Pocket Weather…
Every once in a while, take a peak in the Memory control panel and close programs that you may have thought you closed, but only minimized. Especially Active Sync which always seems to find a reason to stay open.
I would like a copy of PocketBreeze, , please.
I use SKTools to delete all stuff from startup that i don’t need from the start and to mowe all the internet tempory files and other stuff to my cf card.
I would use Pocket Breeze would be helpful to me, and I love having as much info on the today screen as possible. I hate hunting through menu’s for common tasks, and the added control Pocket Breeze would allow woud be a big help to me. As far as memory goes, I use Omega one Battery pack, which has a hack that makes tapping X on an app close it instead of minimize it. Otherwise, Jason is correct about closing running apps in the memory CP.
I love Pocket Weather. It is a great weather app that I just can’t go without.
Memmaid is what I use to free up memory on my WM5.0 device. It works great for me now that I can empty my Opera cache.
Good luck to everyone.
I totally dig Pocketweather. Although I’m actually a fan of SPB products, the fact is, Pocketweather is in another league.
(Oh yeah, iLauncher looks sweet to)
Namaste

Opps. This post has my correct web-page URL
