Best Car Mount
The Proclip adjustable mount is my preferred solution for my Axim/X51V/Sena leather case on and extended battery. There is no drilling; windshield suction cup; no rattling; and the angle is swivel to avoid glare (especially if you have a glass sunroof)…
ProClip’s various car mounts have continued to deliver superior alternatives to cheaper and simpler competing designs. The Padded Adjustable Holder with Tilt Swivel ($39.95), a design which we believe is the very best car mount we’ve ever seen for the your PDA/GPS, but with only one caveat: like its predecessors, it requires a separate vehicle-specific part called the Dashboard Mount ($29.95), bringing its total cost up to nearly $70.
The vendor will ask you to select a specific model for the device mount. Do not select that option, you will be stuck with that. The adjustable holder is much better, since it will give you more freedom for your future device. And if you carry your mobile device with a leather case, this mount can accommodate the leather case on so you don’t have to take your device in/out constantly. (The picture shows an iPod, but it should work fine with most devices.)
If you can get over the price – which, unlike so many products, we would actually urge you to consider – you’ll be blown away by ProClip’s newest design. Familiar, positive features are in abundance. It starts with the soft, anti-scratch padded sides of the company’s Padded Holder, which we liked before and respect even more after an unexpectedly rough test: a naughty dog managed to grab the Adjustable Holder and use it as a toy, yet barely removed the padding and did very little damage to the plastic. We’ve also left the Holder in a hot vehicle for days at a time without any issues – it’s very resilient.

Solsie, you suggested this mount a while back in another forum and it has been great. I changed from the Axim 51v to the XV6700 and the mount was able to adjust to fit, so two devices with one mount. Thanks again for the recommendation!
