- Encoding Video for WM Devices
Unlike Apple’s iTunes, Microsoft WMP has not yet embraced the Podcast world, even in the latest WMP11. You probably see more video podcasts are encoded in H.624/.M4v, .mov than .wmv format. And WM users including myself rely on third party player such TCPMP to play back rather than the capability-limited WMP.
However there are lots of WM users, especially in the Smartphone space only use the native WMP, so here is the tutorial how to encode a suitable video for it!
“Hubdog has put together a how-to guide on encoding video for Windows Mobile devices.
“The wide diversity of devices available for Windows Mobile (WM) has made it very difficult until now for video podcasters to provide a smooth, lag-free encoding format universally compatible with all types of WM Pocket PCs and Smartphones. By putting together this free guide, we hope to eliminate a significant entry barrier and drive far more independent and mainstream producers to create video podcasts for the fast growing Windows Mobile market”, says Patrick Hanchay, Hubdog CEO.”
