- Media Streams in PlaylistMgr 0.4
Vicott Wong, the author of the great PlaylistMgr utility just released a new version:
“Thanks to Solsie for suggesting to add media stream management into PlaylistMgr a while back, it’s now been implemented in PlaylistMgr version 0.4. That means that PlaylistMgr is now able to load playlists with media stream links properly. You can also add in media stream links into your playlists using the software. I’ve also loosened up the method for reading the ASX format, so there should be less exceptions/errors now when loading playlists…
In this new version, I’ve also added context menus and also a menubar on the main screen. The menubar will appear as the left soft key menu in Windows Mobile 5.0. In addition to these enhancements, the list box should also scroll properly when items are added/removed/moved, instead of the item going out of view when an item is removed/moved in the previous versions.”
I am using this utility to listen to my Podcasts daily (as I posted HERE!) but you can also use it to create playlists for Windows Media Player, TCPMP, of course, listen to audio streaming now …

I just stumbled upon you site today. Nice place you have here. Do you have RSS, nevermind, you do.
On topic, I really want to try podcast/vidcast for my MDA, I could never run it on Egress. I want to try PlayListMgr but I dont want to have too many program on my PPC.
Have you used Egress for podcast/vidcast? How does PlaylistMgr compare to it?
Plylistmgr is just to have a refreshed playlist created automatically. It does not aggregate nor play your Podcast.
