Brighthand’s Ed Hardy attend a  meeting with Microsoft under NDA (Non-Disclosure-Agreement). Ed gave us a little glimpse of waht he can say..

“I recently got a briefing from Microsoft on the next two versions of Windows Mobile, and there’s good news and bad news. The good news is that both of these upcoming versions look good. The bad news is that neither of them will be available any time soon.

A pre-condition of getting this briefing was that I’m only allowed to share my impressions of these upcoming versions, not give any details. Still, half a loaf is better than none, as the saying goes”…

  1. Just an updated version of Windows Mobile 5, a la WM2003 to WM2003SE
  2. Some Improvements across 2 separate OS versions: Smartphone & PocketPC
  3. Release second half of 2007

  4. Won’t be out until 2008
