This project shows a car setup to use X51V & “Aximizer” as “Carputer” providing following features using the Dell Axim and its computing power along with WM5, the output goes to a larger in-car LCD screen. The storage capacity comes from an external hard drive mounted in the trunk..
- Bluetooth GPS Navigation
- Fast tap Bluetooth dialling.
- Music
- Movies (not for the driver of course)
- Online car diagnostics.
Car setup components:
- X51V + Ratoc USB Host + Aximizer
- Bluetooth GPS
- Bluetooth Cell phone.
- 7†VGA TFT w/touchscreen
- HD USB + Power inverter (12vDC to 220vAC 300w).
- Car diagnostics OBD-II to RS232 adaptor.
- USB and SD slots built at car front panel.

Now I am investigating to add a USB webcam as rear camera and a Radar Detector integrated with PDA via serial port.
I am also thinking about adding TVout to Aximizer, so that it can be used not only on TV set but also on non VGA car displays.
AMAZING Use for Regular PPC:)
well, not for regular PPC, I am afraid X50V/X51V are the only one out there with VGA out. I think that feature should be regular.
i am looking for a adaptor that will intergrat with all of my automotive needs and saw your axim x51v adaptor…can you contact me please to know how to get this unit
