Unwrap Sprint Samsung IP-830
Last month Sprint launched a phone that will allow their users to travel worldwide. Until now, Sprint customers who traveled abroad had to rent a phone because Sprint’s CDMA phones do not work around the world where GSM is the prevailing technology.
There is nothing extraordinary by today standard. This form factor is getting a bit dated since we have seen on Verizon for while. But if you are CDMA user and you are World traveler, this is the only choice!
The Samsung IP-830 is the first Windows Mobile device that runs on Sprint’s CDMA network and on any GSM/GPRS network worldwide, as long as a pre-paid SIM is used. The Sprint IP-830 runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 and is capable of using Sprint’s fast EVDO broadband network.
The IP-830 looks very similar to the Samsung i-730 but of course works on both CDMA and GSM. It features an Intel PXA 272 (520-MHz) CPU, 128MB ROM, 64MB RAM, 240 x 320 touchscreen display, SDIO memory card slot, and a full QWERTY keypad. The only downside to this phone is that it weighs 6.4 oz. That’s just too heavy for carrying around all the time! If you’re up for the extra weight, this looks like a fine phone.
