Microsoft Ray Ozzie on Next Big Thing!

At  General Session time at O’Reilly’s Web 2.0 Conference, Ray Ozzie (B.Gate replacement) was just asked where he thought the greatest opportunities would be following this launch of Vista and looking as far as five years out.

He didn’t hesitate a bit when he said “I think that we’ll see the best opportunities in the mobile space.” “All phones” he said, “will be smart phones. The lines between what was a smart phone and what is a typical phone now are blurring and soon will disappear. There are going to be so many people with these devices that can do so much”.

This is the statement from the person who is running the future R&D at Microsoft. It isn’t like he’s guessing. He’s telling us what the future WILL be. Microsoft doesn’t guess about the future or predict the future, in many ways Microsoft has the ability to determine the future. Make no mistake, this wasn’t a prediction it was a statement of fact…
