TinyTube.net: Stream YouTube Video to Your Mobile Device

Update: TinyTube has been taken down…
“We want to maintain a good working relationship with YouTube, so when a Senior Manager at YouTube contacted us about Terms of Service violations we took the YouTube content offline. This happened at 10am GMT-8 today Dec,02,2006.”

TinyTube.net answers to the gap that YouTube is sorely lacking,  the ability to stream directly video to mobile device without any conversion. Tinytube.net has made it even easier to find, send and watch your farorite YouTube videos on your mobile device.

You can now search and stream the video as well as watch a specific video. If you want to watch this video, you notice the URL is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd7qt4Z0WTE. Now, if you’d like to watch that on your mobile all you need to do is type http://tinytube.net/watch/fd7qt4Z0WTE into the address bar. Just copy the “fd7qt4Z0WTE” and stick it on the end of http://tinytube.net/watch/ – this can then be used or forwarded to any mobile user via SMS or email as the address to get the video. Notice if you enter http://tinytube.net/watch/fd7qt4Z0WTE on your PC, you will see the normal format as usual, but if it detects you are using mobile browser, it will switches to mobile format.

Note: The technology behind is using 3gp format. It seems this works best on 3G capable phone – I can not make it work on my Axim/PIE over WiFi – but on a Verizon Treo700w/EV-DO/WM5 it works great. When I click on play, PIE issues message if I want to save the file and immediately WM launched and play the stream
