Doing More with Windows Mobile/Media Player (WMP)
Pocket PCs have all the necessary ingredients for a portable music/video player: software to play the music, memory to store music in (both internally and on a memory card), an audio jack for connecting headphones and connectivity with a PC for transferring music.
A version of Windows Media Player ships with every Pocket PC. Devices that run Windows Mobile 5 have Windows Media Player 10 Mobile on them. This is a scaled-down version of WMP on the desktop that can play MP3s, WMAs and WAVs (as well as Windows Media Video files).
I agree, the user interface is not the best nor user friendly compared to third party player. But if you get use to it. Actually it can address most your media listening/watching needs.
Jenneth at GirlsGoneMobile published a multi part tutorial, she covers the following:
- Automatically sync music from your computer to your Pocket PC
- Add a new skin to Windows Media Player on your Pocket PC
- Assign hardware buttons to WMP functions
- Wirelessly send songs to another device over Bluetooth
- Stream music from an online Internet radio channel
