HP rx5000 Travel Companion Review
HP recently released the RX5000 series and gave the name “Travel Companion” to clearly show its intention to be mainly used in a car.
This Windows Mobile 5.0-powered device sports a 400MHz Samsung SC32442 processor; 3.5-inch QVGA touchscreen display; 2GB of Flash memory; 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, 64MB RAM; Bluetooth 2.0; and an SDIO slot. And another important point is this is one of the rare new devices that does not have the Cellphone function. (Skype is optional).
HP in partnership with TomTom provides the device with a solid set of accessories for its main purpose GPS functionality. The result is the best hybrid yet. With a 3.5-inch touchscreen, enough memory out of the box to store all the maps you need, and a friendly user interface, the iPAQ rx5900 Travel Companion feels first and foremost like a GPS device, one that delivers extra value by delivering all of the things you would expect from a top-notch Pocket PC.
PDAFrance published a “take-to-the-road” preview with lots of pictures and screenshots.
