I got tagged too!

You probably know that recently SolSie got tagged by PatrickJ from JustAnotherMobileMonday and had to tell five little know things about himself (if not, read here). SolSie tagged Doug (dgoldring), and he tagged me.

Sigh. When these kind of things start popping up you hope to avoid this, but sometimes you KNOW that it’s not going to be possible. So first of all, I’ll announce who I’m tagging, so we can get that over with. If you’re afraid of being tagged, it’s probably the only reason you’re reading this anyway (in the hope that you are lucky again). :P

I decided that we’d better get this thing over with on SolSie.com and JAMM. :D

Read on after the break to see how I did that. (That is, if SolSie can put a break in here, I have no idea how to do that. ;)

So I went to the JAMM contributors page and saw that there are 5 contributors. Two have already been tagged, so that leaves:

  • Steve
  • Brandon (aka Netsyd)
  • Nowire

Next in the list my SolSie.com colleague:

and finally I really liked that Doug also tagged Julie from Ilium Software. Ilium is trying to get their blog to a higher level, and they are running a monthly contest to help with that. However, they also need posts on the blog! Just like Doug, I also had contact with Julie from Ilium Software on several occasions, I choose to give:

  • Ellen

who came up with the contest a chance to continue her idea of ‘posting more’ on the blog.

And now for the five things about me that few people know.

  1. The ones that read the introduction post about me might know, but apart from that I don’t know a lot of people know that I’m one of the few people here that doesn’t work in a tech-related job. I’m ‘just’ a student (Law), in Utrecht University in Utrecht (Netherlands).
  2. I paid relatively very little money for the great software on my device. I paid for the SBSH PB, PW and CB, but with a bundle discount. iLauncher was free because I’ve been betatesting it. I paid for Pocket Informant, I paid for Astraware Bejeweled 2 and Popcap Games Pack 1, and I paid for the Resco Utility pack. I might have paid for some other stuff, but most of it came from writing reviews or winning it in SolSie.com / JAMM contests! The contests are great, and really helped me. Being a student means I don’t have all that much money to spend on toys like this, but with a little help from these blogs I’m a very happy user of many well known software titles now.
  3. I wrote the iLauncher manual for version 3! I don’t know how interesting it is since I don’t know how many use iLauncher and ever looked at the manual, but at least it’s something that not a lot of people know!
  4. Number 4 is a confession. I really don’t need my Pocket PC. Many people use it extensively for their work and really can’t do without. I have very few appointments, so I could do fine with a paper agenda and a regular mobile phone. However, my Orange SPV M3000 (HTC Wizard) was priced the same as a regular mobile phone with my monthly plan, so it was an easy choice. So I end up playing and tweaking more with the device than actually using it for it’s PDA or Phone functionality!
  5. And finally, my personal situation. Always nice to read if someone lives alone, or with many others in a large family. I’m somewhere inbetween: I still live at home, with my mom and sister (17). My parents divorced a couple of years ago, so it’s just the three of us now. ;)

Ok that’s it! Glad I don’t have to worry about this anymore. ;)

Hey, SPMWinkel, that was fast!! Nice job. I had no idea you wrotethe manual for iLauncher 3. Very interesting.

I’m glad you tagged Ellen, I had a hard time deciding between her and Julie, and that should give them some extra exposure. But man, tagging three people from JAMM at the same…that is harsh. Good thing our contributor page is not up to date. :)

I really don’t read a lot of blogs so there was not much for me to choose from. :p

Nice.

I read the iLauncher manual before and noticed that you are the author.

Ktvyeow is still back in Asia. The last earth quack in Taiwan still has lots of impact on Internet access there. He should be back to UK and be online soon!

Brandon aka NetSyD January 6, 2007

Wonderful. Now I’ve got to come out of seclusion… =(

Just kidding. I’ll put some junk about me up soon. Once I decide which lies sound believable enough!!! LOL

Wow, I had no idea you wrote the iLauncher manual. Now I feel even more proud to be a member of Solsie.com. I’m back in the UK now, and my internet is going strong.
