Few of my friends asked me to go to Los Angeles Airport yesterday to attend the first US landing of this largest jetliner. I missed that occasion due to business meetings. This the the best video I found for you.

The jetliner to claim the title of world’s biggest passenger aircraft completed its maiden voyage to the United States on Monday, flying on football field-length wings and a prayer that the American airline industry will want to buy the double-decker jumbo jet.

The four-engine Airbus A380 touched down at John F. Kennedy International Airport at about 12:10 p.m., to the cheers of onlookers gathered to watch the arrival. As the plane taxied, a pilot waved an American flag. Minutes later, a separate A380 arrived in Los Angeles, with just a crew and no passengers.

AIRBUS A380 Specs

Length: 239 feet, 3 inches
Wingspan: 261 feet, 8 inches
Height: 79 feet, 7 inches
Takeoff Weight: 617.3 U.S. tons
Passengers: The Lufthansa flight has room for 549 passengers in first, business and economy class with 23 cabin crew and five flight crew.
Range: 8,000 nautical miles
Fuel Capacity: 81,890 gallons
Cruising speed: 560 mph
Engines: Four Trent 900 or GP 7000 jet engines with combined thrust of 70,000 pounds.

After the jump, you will see the video captured at LAX, a little scary moment, right after it lands…. the tail slides just a bit. But the Pilot seemed to regain control quickly.
