Microsoft SideShow Remote Control for Windows Media Center

As part of Vista framework, Microsoft adds Windows SideShow architecture allowing small PDA like devices that are attached to bags, Media Center remotes, laptop cases, in Windows Mobile Phone devices, etc, that provide snips of data from the parent computer like email, calendar, contacts, media, RSS, etc.

More about Sideshow can be found at Microsoft Windows SideShow area.

(Developers interested in building… gadgets to run in these Windows SideShow devices should start by downloading the SideShow .NET Framework Components 1.0 beta.)

Ricavision just announced a remote control for WMC as the first application with SideShow. (We have seen some SideShow devices tethered to the laptop before)

Picture you can sit across the room and your RSS feeds and check your email,  schedule recordings with Media Center as well as browsing your music collection, etc…..

The RICAVISION Vista SideShow Remote Control will be available in April for $199. Of course you need at least Vista Home Premium on your PC/WMC to play with it.
