Tip: How to Extract the Image from .tsk File (Today Theme)

This is a quick tip when you need to extract the image from your today theme (abc.tsk). Just rename the file to abc.zip then unzip it. In the unzipped folder, you will see a file called Tdywater with no extension; Rename it to Tdywater.jpg and it will be ready for Photoshop.
Note, I have not tried to put the image back to the .tsk file. The safe bet is to make a new tsk file with the free ThemeGenCE.

Actually, there is no need to rename the TSK file to ZIP. You can make use of “open with” to open the TSK file using uncompression tools like WinZip.
The other way is to use MSCEInf to extract files from TSK/HME/CAB.

I was using ThemeGenCE, it does not seem to have a way to extract the TDYwater.gif.
Open the TSK with ThemeGenCE and you have all the theme images in the ThemeGenCE program folder with appropriate names depending on the format :
stwater_480_640
stwater_480_480
stwater_640_480
stwater_320_240
stwater_240_320
stwater_240_240
stwater
and
tdywater_480_640
tdywater_480_480
tdywater_640_480
tdywater_320_240
tdywater_240_320
tdywater_240_240
tdywater
Futhermore you can overwrite these files with your own images and the appropriate name to force ThemeGenCE to use them without modifications.
This is because on idle ThemeGenCE looks for images needed for the theme in the program folder.
Try this : erase in this folder an image needed for the theme and the create theme button become instantly grayed.

Ok, with Vicott for opening TSK with Winzip. But Winzip is unable to extract the real name of the files which are in the TSK (which is in fact a CAB).
With MSCEInf you see the real name and you can make a Drag and Drop from the Files Tab to the Explorer which extract the file(s) with the real names (it allows multiselection).

A theme is a combination of some sorts of file(jpg/png/swf/gif/etc.). But my question is how to separate them from a theme? is there any soft which can separate/extract all sorts of file from theme?
i got the idea. 1st rename(exmpl.zip) the theme thn extract it.
