NYT: Big Money in Little Screens
The NYTimes has a boilerplate article about Microsoft, Yahoo! and Google going after the cellphone. This line is interesting, though: Google has gone so far as to build a prototype phone with its own software inside, according to one person who has seen it.
The article explains while the mobile carriers still rely on Google, Yahoo and Microsoft to provide better search technology and better browsing experience; the carriers still see them as competitors trying to get a large piece of the pie.
