WM6 Standard Edition Supports File Synchronization

I am reading some news this morning and I ran across this post from Kris Kumar raving about WM6 Standard Edition adding File Sync back to ActiveSync..Yes this is the old File Sync that only works with My Document Folder in memory..(I hope you read the Easy Sync utility featured in our last contest!)

Big yawn!

If you have been using ActiveSync; you know ActiveSync does not get any better, mostly worse! at least from user perspective. (as an example, remember the older AS had sync over WiFi).

With WM5  Smartphone edition, they decided not to include two ActiveSync related features that is available on the Pocket PC edition – file sync and Outlook notes sync. And now they put it back

..But wait..This won’t work if you run Vista on your PC, Vista’s Windows Mobile Device Center does not support file synchronization…

C’Mon Microsoft! Give us some reasons to love ActiveSync…

I thought File Sync has been there with ActiveSync all along?? At least it is still on my ActiveSync version 4.5. I got no problem syncing two WM5 devices.

You have Smartphone (no touchpad) or PocketPC phone (touchpad)?
