Skype Beta for Linux Released

Here it is Skype 1.4 for Linux has been released. Many improvements of GUI and internals made their way into this build, so take a deep breath and chat with your friends

Pretty much all Linux flavors are supported.

Update: Skype 3.5 Beta for PC is also released, with a bunch of new features, including call tranferring. You can transfer calls to any Skype user for free, but if you want to transfer a call to a SkypeOut number, you’ll need to sign up for Skype Pro at $3 a month, even if you’ve paid for an unlimited calling plan.

Other new features include:

* Auto redial
* Edit chat messages
* Private telephone numbers
* Send contacts inside a chat
* Updated extras manager
* Language updates
* A whole slew of bug fixes
