Apple Tips for iPhone Battery
Apple has posted an article provide tips to extend the iPhone battery life. Some of these tips should be applicable for any of the mobile devices as well. So don’t feel left out!
Tips include:
-
Use iPhone Regularly - Lock Your iPhone
- Optimize Your Settings (Bluetooth-WiFi -Auto Brightness-Equalizer)
- Update to the Latest Software
Always make sure iPhone has the latest software from Apple, as engineers may find new ways to optimize battery performance. Using iTunes 7.3 or later, you can update your iPhone with the latest software. Connect your iPhone to your computer, then select iPhone in the Source pane. In the Summary tab, you can click “Check for Update†to see if there’s a new version of the iPhone software available. Click Update to install the latest version.
Given that the iPhone still holds a (roughly) 80 percent charge after 400-500 charge cycles, the non-replaceable battery might not an issue. 80 percent of the iPhone’s battery life is still better than many phones, and by following some of Apple’s tips and avoiding the temptation to plug your iPhone in all the time, you’re looking at over a year before battery capacity even begins to trickle. And even if you do have to get it replaced, the $85 is only slightly more than you’d pay for a battery yourself ($30-40). With a little care, the iPhone battery should be alright even as the phone gets older, so a little attention now may mean saving $85 later.
