iPhone Figures Bite into Apple’s stock (-6%) Today

Apple’s stock sank more than 6 percent today, Tuesday after AT&T reported that it activated far fewer iPhones during the first two days the device was available than analysts had anticipated. Apple’s sole wireless provider said in its earnings report that 146,000 iPhones were activated, but most analysts had forecast sales of the touchscreen phone to be around 500,000 to 700,000 during the first weekend of its release.

As you can remember lots of new iPhone users had trouble subscribing to the system via iTunes due to network issues and this number only reflect the first day and half of the sales.
