Nokia Acquires Twango

Nokia acquired Redmond, Washington-based start-up Twango. Twango was created by few ex-Microsofties ,  offers a combination of of YouTube, Flickr, Shutterfly, Photobucket and Xdrive – for about $96.8 million.

Nokia has acquired quietly few other web services, including music services such Loudeye and gate5, a navigation data service, etc.

Let’s see how Nokia plays out with the carriers who  want to put their own services on the handsets and turn the device makers into simple gear providers.
