As part of the new Google Earth 4.2, Google adds Google Sky, which allows to redirect 180 degrees from Earth to the sky. Users will be able to zoom from Earth to the stars.

Google Sky gets its imagering material from six organizations: the Space Telescope Science Institute, the Digital Sky Survey Consortium, CalTech’s Palomar Observatory, the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, the United Kingdom Astronomy Technology Centre, and the Anglo-Australian Observatory.

Sky is available in 13 languages and can be downloaded from the Google Earth web site
