Amazon just opened their MP3 store to sell DRM free music at $.99 per song and the top 100 songs are priced at $.89. The top 100 albums go for $8.99 each. Most of the songs are encoded at 256kbps.
The individual song can be purchased and downloaded immediately while the album purchased required a small Amazon client (Windows, MacOS). [Via Arstechnica]
