Plantronics CS55 "Professional Grade" Wireless Headset Review
We just received the Plantronics CS55/HL-10 from Lowmarkup.com for review. This Plantronics headset system is designed especially for office use.
This system basically make adds the wireless capability to your “wired” office phone and allows you to roam around your office wirelessly up to 300ft away while you still receive phone calls as if you are seating at your desk.
The Plantronics CS55 is the second generation of completely wireless headsets manufactured by Plantronics. The original unit, the Plantronics CS50, operated at the 900MHz frequency. The new Plantronics CS55 operates at the 1.9GHz voice only frequency with the latest DECT 6.0 Technology
The system consists of a base unit that is inserted between the handset and your office phone. The base doubles as the charging when the unit is not in use.
While your phone is within reach. To answer a call, you can lift the handset; the sound is routed to the Plantronics headset wirelessly.
When you are not at your desk, an optional “lifter” HL-10 (Included in the bundle) that you install under the office phone handset. When you receive an incoming call, with a push of a button; the lifter gets signal from the wireless unit then simulates the pickup of the phone handset and hangs up when you finished your conversation.
There are four microphone settings (A-D) and four speaker settings (1-4) which allow for great range and the ability to fine tune the unit to your specific phone and personal volume needs.
The default settings are ok in my home office but user can better adapt their work environment by fine tuning these audio settings. The mute function (by pushing the dial inward on the wireless headset) is available with a nifty feature: the unit issues an audible repetitive beep in your ear when the microphone is muted as a reminder.
The Plantronics CS55 expected range is 200-300 feet which is what I have experienced. The talk time is 8-10 hours.
Plantronics included multiple wearing attachments for your optimal comfort. Four different ear pieces are included to allow you to wear the unit over-the-ear without a headband.
The Plantronics CS55 is an excellent office/call center wireless headset and the price is reasonable for business users. We highly recommend for its usability and it high sound/distance quality.

i think the new range of headsets is a great work from plantronics.
I really like the Plantronics cs55 but I would also recommend the Plantronics cs70n as well for over the ear wearing styles.
