Will We See New Camera with Phone (as Feature)?
As cellphone maker showing of their latest phone pepping with multi-mega-pixel camera such the Nokia N95 (5MP), the LG KU990 Viewty (5MP), the Sony W910i (3MP), etc…We speculate perhaps that camera manufacturers (Nikon, Minolta, Canon, Kodak etc..) might jump to cellphone market if not, we might see some partnership forming between Cellphone manufacturer and Camera manufacturers for months to come.
The compact digital camera market has become a commodity low-margin business. It will not be a surprise to see camera makers explore other added values to maintain or increase their revenue streams. The new features we might see getting in to the mainstream is the incorporation of GPS for photo tagging, Bluetooth, WiFi for photo transferring/sharing and why not a cellphone or a media player built-in.
With the exception of manufacturers such Sony, who already well established in both camera and cellphone market, The Nokia N95 would sound better if it comes equipped with a 5MP Nikon camera than just 5MP Nokia camera.
