Finger-Friendly Friends: "Doesn’t Really Matter Where You Touch"
Finger-Friendly Friends, also known as FFF, is a finger-friendly contact list for Windows Mobile PocketPC. It lets you search in the contact list, start a phone call, fire a new SMS, New! In version 1.0 alpha 2 you can send your GPS position to your contacts – including a map!
FFF features the new DRMWU-Touch ("Doesn’t Really Matter Where You Touch") keyboard. Other keyboards requires you to hit a specific button in order to type in letters. That is error-prone, especially during one-handed operation when typing with the thumb. The DRMWY-Touch keyboard shows all contacts that match the letters in the proximity of where you touch the screen.
It’s very simple to use: open the FFF contact list and start touching the keyboard to lookup contacts. The result view will display all contacts that matches what you type. Note that the characters you enter must match the start of the first or last name. This makes typing faster, as fewer characters are needed to find your contact!
Touch your finger onto the on-screen keyboard. Notice that a touch-zone square will be drawn until you release the touch. Note that you can move your finger and hence the touch-zone before releasing it if needed. As you release, FFF will find all contacts that match the letters in the touch-zone.
Did you mistype? No problem – you can backspace by sliding your finger from the right to the left across the keyboard! You will notice the red backspace arrow on the screen until you release your finger. You can also tap the "Clear" softkey to start over.
Once you selected the contact, you will be presented with the detail screen with large icons allowing to: Call; Send SMS; Send eMail, Send GPS position (a shortlink will be sent to show your position on Google Map), etc..
