iPhone Released in France
Orange, the mobile phone and Internet arm of France Telecom has obtained exclusive rights to sell the so-called "Apple smartphone" in France. The device first goes on sale at 6PM on Wednesday through 12 outlets before a full launch on Thursday.
Orange says that more than 50,000 people in France have already placed orders for the iPhone, which comes with a base cost of 649€ plus a charge of 100€ for an unlocked version.
The device costs 399€ with various Orange service plans on top. (too complicated to translate here!)
