Samsung Introduces Fast 64GB Solid-State-Drive

Samsung today announces the first solid-state drive using a Serial ATA II bus.  The 1.8-inch, 64GB disk supports as much as three gigabits per second of bandwidth in theory. It uses improved NAND flash memory to sequential write data as quickly as 100 megabytes and sequential read as 120 megabytes per second.

This new SSD offers equivalent I/O performance to the spinning hard drive at much lower power consumption and robustness .to make it an ideal fit for mobile device. No mass production date announced yet.
