Tips: Find Just What you’re After

As much as I try to organize neatly my bookmarks, my start programs, my documents folder, it has become increasingly difficult to find stuff due to the information overload…So I am thinking why not rely on the computer to get you things that you are looking for. There are few simple tools that I use throughout the day:

  • Firefox browser bookmarks, the search box is a great way to look for any bookmark entry, the result is fast and accurate
  • Windows Search Deskbar has rescued me so many time looking for words with the document or the file itself.
  • Launchy 2.0, a lightweight and fast application launcher. Just tap alt+spacebar; in the skinnable window type in the program you want to launch or the bookmark or a directory within your My Documents (or any folder you want Launchy to do the search). The search arguments are fuzzy, Launchy can propose similar results for you to pick.
