Yahoo! Messenger for Vista is Here!

After the integration with Microsoft Live Messenger and the integration with Yahoo! Web-base email service, a complete rebuild of Messenger for Windows Vista users as a preview is available for download starting today. I find the interface is kinda tacky and obtrusive from what I see, but I am sure everything is skinnable to suit to different tastes and needs.

The new enhancements include:

  • New layout
  • Skin chooser
  • Filter-as-you-type for easy searching, spell checker
  • Tabbed conversation
  • Favorite contacts can be display on sidebar
  • Graphical elements in the new IM take Microsoft’s graphic subsystem into play for vector based interfaces and enhanced emoticons.

Again, for Vista user only, you can download this preview release at http://messenger.yahoo.com/windowsvista.php, you can read more and see the screenshot gallery at Downloadsquad.
