In a press release Apple states the MacBook Air is now shipping. But the company also mentions in a small print about AppleTV saying “the new Apple TV® software update, which allows users to rent high definition movies directly from their widescreen TVs, is not quite finished. Apple now plans to make the free software download available to existing Apple TV customers in another week or two.” (mid February)
As of today Thursday Jan 31, Apple sells the AppleTV 40GB and 160GB with the old software. [Source Apple Press Release]
