Cnet’s CarTech Reviewers Blown Away With Microsoft Sync

In a recent test drive of one of the least expensive Ford car, the $16,000 Ford Focus SES equipped in standard the Microsoft Sync Interface.

The Cnet CarTech reviewers were blown away about the Sync application performance after they conducted a real life test. You can listen to an extract of their reaction captured during the test drive.

If you are a PocketPC veteran, you probably already knew about the Microsoft Voice Command App. It is essentially a voice recognition that launches program that plays media files and performs simple tasks (answer time, date, next appointment, battery status, etc..) by voice command without the need of lengthy voice training.


Ford’s Sync system gives the 2008 Focus SES one of the most sophisticated media and communications interfaces available

  That same app was carried over from the mobile division to Microsoft Motor division and gets special enhancement to adapt to the use in car cabin as well as new name “Sync”. The result is truly outstanding. Unfortunately only the new Ford line can enjoy this feature

In my wildest dream: I realize how poor Microsoft marketing campaign has been for this fabulous application. Imagine Steve Jobs on the stage presenting the Microsoft Sync in his annual “MacWorship” session!
