CorePlayer New Release Date
Last week, we posted that CorePlayer v1.2 will be release during CES. In fact we should have said CorePlayer V1.2 will be announced at CES for later release…Our apology for giving you wrong hope! ;-( . Today CorePlayer announced…
On February 21 CoreCodec will release CorePlayer Mobile v1.2 to the public and OEM customers.
Over the past 4+ months we have actually more then doubled our efforts on adding some amazing technology to the CorePlayer Platform and while some features may be evident with v1.2 there is alot more is coming with future milestone releases across all our CorePlayer Products.
But whats new about 1.2? Now we will not spoil it all by stating whats in v1.2 but I can confirm that we will be releasing our advanced IPTV Streaming components (UDP/RTP/RTSP).
ALSO we will also be releasing CorePlayer Professional for Windows and OS X (Linux X11, GTK and QT to be released at a later date). Now, I also want to point out the HUGE differentiator facts about CorePlayer Pro vs. what ppl may notmally be used to in a desktop media player.
Q: Does it play encrypted DVD, Blu-Ray, or HD-DVD’s
A: No
Q: Does it play AC3?
A: No, not at this time, but we will add it later as a purchaseble/downloadable plug-in
Q: Does it play CD Audio
A: Not at this time but we are adding in a 1.xx version
Q: How about subtitle support?
A: Nope, but we do plan on adding it at a later date (SMIL, SRT, etc.)
So… what does CorePlayer Pro do? Its a ‘complete’ package in that it requires no other downloads for the codecs ppl are most used to seekign out for proper playback (IE; DivX, AAC, H.264etc.). Well like its mobile brother CorePlayer Pro is likely the most effecient and ‘complete’ means for multimedia playback ever created. By means of example, from single core, dual core, quad-core processors, etc. running on any modern desktop coputer it is the worlds most CPU effecient H/264(CoreAVC) AAC(CoreAAC v2.0) software media player ever created (Go ahead try running CorePlayer Pro on a 386/486 CPU running win 95…. it works great
)
So full featured desktop media player? Nope…. fastest ‘complete’ media player solution out there? Yep…. So if you like VLC, MPC, or even Quicktime…. you will now have something faster and more adaptable (as time goes on and we release more desktop friendly features).
more to come….
