Online service such Blurb.com allows WordPress.com Blog to print out a hard cover book. But, if you host your blog on other server than WordPress.com you are out of luck. Fortunately, there is another way to print your blog to a PDF file with an utility called WPTeX.

The utility is based on LaTeX and TeX,  which are the best solution to produce hight quality and professional documents (articles, books, brochures and presentations…).  More after the jump!

WPTeX is a small php program that you can easily install in your wordpress blog, to easily generate a TeX file, so you don’t worry about learning LaTeX!

You can download WPTeX HERE! – unzip and FTP to your wordpress directory in your server; Make sure to have the “wptex” directory at the same level as “wp-blog-header.php”; he directory wptex/tmp is writebale. do a chmod 666

Direct your browser to http://YourBlog.com/WPTeX, it asks you to give : the book title, a subtitle (optionnaly), the author’s name (you) and some keywords if you want to include an index in your book. Then you click on a button and WPTeX will walk through every post you’ve written, and generate a zip file for you to download.
Extract this zip file to your desktop and convert the “book.tex” file to a pdf using the these tools and that’s it! You’re done! :) [Via WeblogTool]
