Celio Redfly Starts Arriving

From the last Podcast ,James Kendrick and Kevin Tofel from jkOnTheRun mentioned the arrival of the Celio’s Redfly, a companion for Windows Mobile device. This morning I received a Tweet (Twitter) announcing they have received them.

The REDFLY Mobile Companion is a sleek clamshell design that includes an 8″ display, a full function keyboard, and a touchpad mouse. Measuring just 1x6x9 inches and only 2 pounds, the REDFLY Mobile Companion offers over 8 hours of battery life and boots instantly! It also adds three new features – instant VGA output, access to USB flash drives, and the ability to charge your Smartphone via USB.

From the outside, it looks like a Asus Eee,  when you look closer, the RedFly does not have onboard storage nor even an OS. It relies uniquely on the Windows Mobile Smartphone and complements it with larger display and  keyboard.

The connection between the Smartphone and the Redfly will be over Bluetooth or USB.

The Redfly is clearly a niche product targeting to non-techie executives for its simplicity and its high price ($500). For more technical crowd there are other choices such the Asus Eee and similar size devices, which are priced less.

We are looking forward to read a full review from James and Kevin!

The difference is this Redfly does not need special apps to run.
