CorePlayer 1.2.1 With YouTube Released
CorePlayer 1.2.1 with direct YouTube support has been released. The new CorePlayer features:
- Multi-platform with no dependancies (web browser)
- No Adobe Flash required (Steve Jobs should talk to CorePlayer developers)
But the BIGGEST reason why YouTube is better in CorePlayer then on YouTube.com or any other third party application? CorePlayer is the first media player to feature Configurable YouTube quality control…. You control the bandwidth and quality that your platform can handle. From Low, Medium, to High quality (H.264) streams. Once you start to play with the YT interface in CP and play with the quality settings you will see what we mean by ‘Great’!!!
Some things you can do with YouTube in CorePlayer:
- Disable YouTube ‘Tools > Preferences > Select Page > Network’ and uncheck ‘Enable YouTube Support’ Restart and its gone
- Set stream/quality ‘Tools > Preferences > Select Page > Network > YouTube Format’
* Low (RTSP)
** Medium (RTSP)
*** High (H.264) - Change the default YouTube Profile to be shown ‘Tools > Preferences > Select Page > Network > YouTube User’ change to the user you wish
- Use http://m.youtube.com on Pocket IE (mobile) or IE (desktop) and click “play’ to play a video in CorePlayer.
- See previously played YT videos in the CoreTheque Media Library under ‘Top 50′, ’100 Last Played’ or ‘Not Rated’
- Open YouTube Videos the ‘EASY’ way. ‘File > Open URL’ youtube://123456 (replace 123456 with the video ID, for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=123456 )

When I installed the CAB my ipaq told me that it was made for a previous version of Windows. m.youtube did not work, so I tried to launch the streaming video right from the icon in my docs. When I did that the error was that “streaming player” is not a valid pocket PC application?
