Mailshadow G: No Exchange Needed!
If you have a small company, using Exchange server to manage your employee email, calendar, contact requires heavy infrastructure. Until now the alternative solution has been the hosted version of Exchange, which allow you to use Exchange services from a another hosting company.
Cemaphore, the maker of Mailshadow for Google Apps, or MailShadow G, will release its product to “instantaneously synchronizes e-mail, calendars, and contacts between Outlook and Gmail, which means instead of using Exchange back-end infrastructure, now you can leverage Google free infrastructure, bypassing Exchange completely.
One intriguing fact I found is Exchange allows synchronization over the air to mobile devices, there is no mention about this must have capability with Mailshadow G. [Source Cemaphore]
