Real GPS Navigation on iPhone

5 March, 2008 Posted by SolSie As Mobile Phone, News, Software, iPhone

The iPhone relies on Cellphone tower or WiFi triangulation for its mapping software. Until now, there is no way to use iPhone as real Satellite GPS navigation system.

iGo 8, a GPS Navigation software company that markets navigation software and maps on a SD card,  just demoed at CeBIT its solution to implement GPS on the iPhone.

I don’t have much details, but by viewing the video posted by pdamania, the solution seems to have a GPS receiver acting as WiFi transmitter. Have a look!
