Samsung is Teaming up with Adidas

Samsung and Adidas are teaming up to market a phone unit that plays music and keeps track of users’ workouts. This combo is a direct competition with Nike and Apple iPod, which are a Music Player (not cellphone) communicates to specific models of Nike shoes (not any shoes).

Samsung’s miCoach is a music playing mobile phone that monitors working out  people. The device provides heart rate, speed, time left in their run, etc.. The miCoach communicates with the sensor that can be attached to any running shoes.

The 14.5-millimeter thick slider miCoach sports a 2-inch LCD (liquid crystal display) screen with a textured back to offer better grip. Seven colors available, including pink, red, dark gray, sapphire and silver. The handset includes a 2-megapixel camera and can connect to a computer via a USB (universal serial bus) connection or wirelessly with Bluetooth. [Via MobileCrunch]
