Microsoft has signed a license to use Flash Lite and Reader LE in future Windows Mobile handsets as plug-ins for Internet Explorer Mobile.

Flash lite will be used to enhance user browsing experience with video enable sites on mobile devices.

Microsoft will releases Silverlight for Mobile OS. First for Nokia and later for Windows Mobile , a competing technology. However, Silverlight still needs to get popularity among Web developers to get mainstream.

The announcement is taking opposite direction compared to Steve Jobs latest comments, which dismiss

the the full-blown PC Flash version as “too slow to be useful” on the iPhone. He then went on to describe the mobile version–Flash Lite–as “not capable of being used with the Web.”

Eventually, Microsoft expects to support both Flash Lite and Silverlight on its Windows Mobile handsets.

Currently WM users can download the Flash Lite software HERE!

I welcome this move from Microsoft, which shows sign that strategy to prioritizing user experience in front of business interest. [Via News.com]
