When using Twitter, I prefer Twitterfox, a Firefox extension to get notification as well as posting. But it seems many of Twitter users have adopted Twhirl, which is an Adobe AIR app that can run outside of your browser.

A new start-up Seesmic, which can be considered “Twitter for video” – micro video + Chat service, has just officially announced the acquisition of Twhirl. The first acquisition of an application based on Adobe AIR platform.

It is clear that Seemic wants to expand its platform with the addition of Twhirl, which already has the capability of interfacing cross platform between Twitter, Pownce and Jaiku. [Via Webware]
