The next chip that Apple iPhone 2.0 will be using was rumored to be the Infineon S-GOLD3H as known as PMB8878. The name was found in latest Apple iPhone 2.0 Beta firmware.
While we still do not know how Apple will exploit the chip capabilities. What we know is the PMB8878 can deliver 7.2Mbps HSDPA; Video acceleration; up to 5MP resolution , 2x MMC/SD and DVB-H support for Mobile-TV.
