Windows Media Center can be a stand-alone OS or bundled with Windows Vista Ultimate and Vista Home Premium. Unlike Mobile device where application needs to shrink data to fit to the small screen, Media Center application design emphasizes on the fact that viewer will be 8 or 10 feet away and the main display is your living room big screen TV.

With that said, if you use Media Center to connect to your living room TV to watch, record TV shows, play videos, watch your digital photos and listen to music. But wouldn’t it be nice if you could also use it to read the latest news?

The Media Center RSS Reader application lets you read RSS news items on your Media Center TV as well as watch and/or listen to podcast’s and watch video blogs.

Once installed, the application adds a new option to Media Center’s Start page called “Accessories.” From there, you’ll have access to a section called “RSS News & Casts” where you’ll be able to view your feeds.

Your Xbox 360 in general is connected to your living room TV and luckily it can play/ watch Media Center content. With the  Media Center RSS Reader, you can read feeds and enjoy Audio/Video Podcast contents without the need of a set-top-box. (don’t forget our feed: http://solsie.com/feed)
