Internet Browser War

Los Angeles and its vicinity has one of the most complex road network to handle the horrendous daily traffic. Once somebody, when being asked the best way to go from a point A to point B. He answers without hesitation that the best direction is the one he know best.

And that would be the answer I expect to get when you ask an Internet user as far as his/her favorite browser is concerned.

However, unless you have personal or work related reasons, as an enthusiast tech reader, you might want to find out how the new Browsers measure up as far as rendering speed and the format display of various Web sites. (e.g., IE6, IE7 don’t show our site in a correct format like others browsers).

Kevin Purdy from LifeHacker has conducted a “non-scientific” quick comparison test on the cold start time, warm start time, multi-tab load time, Java Script rendering time, CCS rendering time and memory consumption of the 4 browsers Opera, Firefox, IE7 and Safari in there latest incarnation on a Windows PC.

While the best spot in each test might vary slightly and the test confirms what we have seen with Opera 9.5 in our previous article. The author concludes: “Internet Explorer has yet to bring a worthwhile statistic to the table.”

Note: this test does not take in consideration other features that each browser brings outside of the 6 above criteria’s that might also play a major role in your decision making.

But If you are still hang on to the IE6 or IE7 for no reason, it is worthwhile to explore other options. Surprises might be waiting!
