In an earlier post, we mentioned Andy Lees, the new WM boss gave hints about some future “Music improvement capabilities” on WinMo. Today, in another interview Robbie Bach, VP Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices also hints that the Zune software could be coming to Microsoft OS powered phones.

Apparently, Microsoft’s future strategy would be adding more capabilities to Windows Mobile Phone devices versus adding the phone function to the Zune.

“We don’t make phones ourselves. We don’t have any plans to make phones ourselves. Our focus is on the belief that a phone is a very personal thing. Different people want different types of phones. We think that is going to continue, and we think Windows Mobile is in a great position to service all those different opportunities.”, said Robbie Bach, in reference to the Music download business.

Now, the critical issue here is the time of execution. The above screenshot from the next version of WM was previously leaked, showing the presence of a Zune client software. But, unfortunately the WM7 reportedly will not be out until late 2009 and early 2010…

As Steve Jobs said (about the Zune’s WiFi Squirting) “By the time it is done, the girl is long gone….”
