At the Computex show in Taiwan this week , Nvidia, a well known graphic chip maker, is expected to unveil  its mobile processor lines code named Tegra running on its own reference design MID (photo left)

According to Mike Rayfield, general manager of the Nvidia’s mobile business, its low power Tegra 600 series processors need less than a watt of power running at either 600MHz or 800MHz  will be  designed to work exclusively with Microsoft’s Windows Mobile software (wow, that’s way to much horse power for Windows Mobile).

He admits Windows Mobile users of the past haven’t had the best experience with their Smartphone, but this will change with upcoming versions of Windows Mobile, Microsoft  will give device manufacturers  much more freedom to put catchy user interfaces on top of Windows Mobile as we have already seen with the Sony Ericsson Xperia and the HTC Touch devices. Microsoft’s software also gives Nvidia’s customers a fast route to the marketplace at an affordable price, he said.

Rayfield expects devices using the Tegra processors to arrive by the fourth-quarter holiday season.  This is music to my ears!
