TinyPaste a Nifty Online Tool

When I first saw TinyPaste, I asked why would I need it. But actually it is a very useful and nifty tool that I really like as I did with TinyURL.

You basically go to TinyPaste site, paste the (hopefully long) text, hit enter, the site will provides you a short URL. Click on this URL resulting in bringing up the text inside a clean screen.

Here are few examples how I’d use TinyPaste :

  • I am in an IM session, I want to share a long excerpt text from a word document but I don’t want to flood the IM window to keep my conversation thread clean.
  • I want to share a long text portion of the Web page but not the whole page with its URL
  • I want to enter more than 140 character text in Twitter

There’s also a Firefox extension for right-click transformation of text into TinyPaste links.
